Terms and Conditions

Mandela Safari Holidays prides it self as one of the best tour operators in Uganda. We specialize in providing affordable memorable budget, midrange and luxury tailor-made safaris in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

We request our clients to read through the following terms and conditions of our services and may ask us where they may need more clarification before booking a safari holiday with us.

  1. A tour with Mandela Safari Holidays will always be confirmed after our client has paid a nonrefundable fee of 25% of the quoted price. This amount helps us to make bookings for your hotels and lodges and some other related arrangements. The remaining balance should be cleared at least 8 days before the start of your tour. For clients who want to clear the balance in cash, it should be settled(on arrival).

In some cases we may ask for a 50% deposit to confirm the tour. This normally happens in cases of fishing safaris, cross country safaris, luxury safaris and gorilla safaris.

  1. Payments for gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits should be made to nil balance and are 100% non-refundable. There is always high competition for these permits and therefore, a gorilla permit/chimpanzee permit can never be issued if you have not made its full payment.

Being among the best tour operators in Uganda means working with some of the best hotels and lodges in the industry.

  1. Accommodation allocated to clients in Mandela Safari Holidays’ itineraries are only available upon booking, we do ask our clients to book as early as possible (especially in the high and peak seasons). In case an accommodation is sold out, we select you another accommodation of the same class. We always let the client(s) know about this in time.
  2. Accommodation offered by Mandela Safari Holidays is based on two people sharing a room. Single occupancy can also be availed on request.
  3. Mandela Safari Holidays will always change an accommodation/campsite to another should they predict any condition that may hinder their clients’ holiday schedule. The client is always told about this.

  1. We normally charge a fee of US dollars 35 in order to help book your gorilla or chimpanzee permit. However, this charge shall not apply to clients who book their whole tour(s) with us.
  2. A gorilla permit and chimpanzee permit is evidence that you have been permitted to participate in trekking activities to see these creatures in their natural habitat. Participants in these activities should be ready to hike between 45 minutes and 7 hours depending on the movements of the primates on a particular day. We can never guarantee seeing them because they are wild animals and therefore no one can tell where they will be on a given day.
  3. We understand that seeing animals in their natural habitat is memorable and this is why we train our guides as much as possible to avail them with enough skills including animal spotting. However, it is not a guarantee that you will see all animals in the park; this may depend on a number of factors.
