    Itinerary

    Day 1Arrival

    On arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide from Mandela Safari Holidays. He will as well transfer you to your Hotel in Either Entebbe or Kampala and brief you about the 7 days Uganda Gorillas and Masai Mara safari.

    Day 2Travel to Bwindi

    You wake up early for breakfast and then drive to Bwindi Forest. You will pass through the Ankole Kingdome home of the (Ankole cattle)/long horned cattle before you start seeing the terraced steep hills of the Kigezi region. On arrival you will check in your accommodation in Bwindi for dinner and overnight.

    Day 3Gorilla Trekking

    After a mighty breakfast prepared by your safari lodge, we report at the gorilla trekking starting point for a short briefing. You then enter the Impenetrable forest with packed lunch to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Be ready to walk for 1 to 7 hours depending on where you will find the gorillas that day. Having encountered them, you will be given a full hour to enjoy their company. At this point, you can take as many photos as you want. An hour you spend with the Uganda mountain gorillas is one of the best wildlife encounters one can ever have. Don’t be suprised when you get goose bumps as you look into the brown eyes of the dominant silver back, its the strongest and most muscular primate on earth. You then drive back to your safari lodge to relax.

    Day 4Travel to Entebbe

    After breakfast, you will check out of your accommodation and then start the journey back to Kampala with a detour to Lake Bunyonyi. This is Uganda’s deepest and most beautiful lake, so sparing two hours to visit is worth it.

    Day 5Fly to Masai Mara

    On this day, your Uganda Safari guide will drive you to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight to Masai Mara for your next wildlife adventures. In Masai Mara, you will be received by your Kenyan Safari Guide from Mandela Safari Holidays who will transfer you to your Lodge and brief you about your next part of the trip.

    Day 6 and 7Full day game drive in Masai Mara

    Having had breakfast, have a full day game viewing on the vast plains of the Masai Mara giving you chance to see lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs. Masai Mara is famous for having a huge population of game. The months of July to September tend to be the most interesting due to the migration of millions of wildebeest from Tanzania’s Serengeti to Kenya’s Mara National Reserve. To some, this great animal migration is the 7th wonder of the world. Dinner and overnight at campsite.
    Our game drives will mainly focus on Ngama hills for black rhinos, Sand River for large herds of elephants, hammer kop plains and Kissenger for lions, Keekorok for hippo viewing and river crossings for the wildebeest.

    Day 8Visit a Masai Village and Travel to Nairobi

    After having breakfast at leisure, you visit a masai community. On this tour tour you will be introduced to some masai traditions such as starting fire without a lighter, visit a typical masai homestead, visit a masai market and also enjoy a presentation from their community. Be ready to participate in the presentation as it is healthy for your muscles (can you jump higher than a masai warrior?).
    You will then travel to Nairobi. You will be dropped of at Jommo Kenyatta International Airport or to a destination of your choice in Nairobi.
