This 20 Days Uganda adventure leads you to Uganda’s classic parks, tropical rain forests and country sides which will give you a taste of Uganda. It involves gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, game drives, bird watching, Nile River adventures, sightseeing and so on. On this trip, you will visit the less visited Northeastern Uganda where you will indulge into the unchanged Karamojong culture before stepping your feet into Kidepo Valley National Park, dubbed the “True African Wilderness.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arriival
On your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed/picked up by your guide for transfer to your hotel in Kampala. On this day you will be briefed about your whole tour.

Day 2 Travel to Jinja, boat trip
Wake up for breakfast and then start the journey to Jinja. Arrive in early midday ,go for lunch and later have a boat trip to visit the source of the Nile River. This is the point where the Nile waters begin their 90-day journey to the Mediterranean Sea. You later check in your accommodation for the night.

Day 3 Optional activities
After a leisure breakfast, feel free to take part in any of the many optional activities Jinja has for you, for example zip lining, kayaking, quad biking, fishing, white water rafting, bungee jumping, history tour, horseback riding, boat trip to the source of the Nile and so on. Some of these optional activities need to be booked in advance.

Day 4 Transfer to Moroto
After a morning breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Moroto located in the eastern region of Uganda. While on the way you will pass by the Zziwa rhino sanctuary to trek rhinos. This is the only place you can see rhinos in the wilderness of Uganda. You will trek Rhinos on foot under guidance of an experienced guide. From there you will proceed with your journey, have lunch on the way and arrival will be in the late afternoon. On arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Optional Activities
In the morning after breakfast, you drive to Lorukul cultural village where you will get a glimpse into the Karimojong culture. The Karimojong are known for being very primitive and have for long
opposed civilization. They are pastoralists and you will know how important animals are to their day-to-day life. You will be given a tour of the typical Karimojong homestead to learn what they eat, how they entertain them selves among others
From there you will return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation

Day 6 Transfer to Kidepo, evening game drive
You wake up early for breakfast and Travel to north of Uganda, to Kidepo valley National Park. This is dubbed the true Africa’s wilderness. You have lunch at the lodge and later do an afternoon game drive.

Day 7 Full day game drive
You will have a full day game drive in the Narus valley. This part has a high concentration of animals due to the presence of a permanent water source the Narus River. You start early to catch the early risers such as lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, elands and so on.

Day 8 walking safari
In the morning after breakfast, you do a safari walk. You walk on foot under the guidance of an expert game ranger. He will tell you more about Kidepo fauna and flora. Do not forget to enjoy the landscape. Kidepo is dubbed, Africa’s most picturesque park.

Day 9 Transfer to Murchison Falls National park
After a morning game drive you will check out of your hotel and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a lunch break in Gulu town and arrive at your lodge at dawn.

Day 10 Game drive and boat trip
Have breakfast and then start your game drive in search for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalos, leopards and so on. Spend the morning exploring the Buligi track, Albert track, Queen’s track, the Nile Delta and so on. You will have a lunch break and later go for a boat safari on the Nile River. The intention is that you see the bottom of the Murchison Falls. Here the Nile River is forced into a narrow gorge and forms the loud Murchison falls. This is the world’s most powerful falls. While on the boat trip expect to see hippos, elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, antelopes, many water birds and so much more. You then return to your lodge to relax.

Day 11 Transfer to Kibale Forest
Having had breakfast, have your last game drive in this park and later travel to Kibale Forest, the primate capital of the world. The forest is home to 13 primate species including the chimpanzee, blue monkeys, nocturnal portal, bush babies, and so on. It is also home to several species of butterflies. Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner.

Day 12 Chimpanzee trekking, Bigodi swamp walk
Wake up early for breakfast and then travel to Kanyanchu Park headquarters where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. You then enter the tropical rainforest as you search for man’s closest relatives, the chimpanzee. Having encountered them, enjoy four full hours observing their behaviour and then return to your lodge to relax.
In the afternoon, you are to go for a guided Bigodi Swamp Walk. (USD 15per person) which might give you an opportunity to see some other primate species including black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys and so on. This is also a Ramsar site for bird watchers. Species to see include the African fish Eagles, kingfishers, herons and so on. You end this walk with a village walk led by a local guide. On this village walk, you will meet locals, particularly a women’s group that makes hand crafts. You will also have an insight into how some handcrafts are made.
You will also visit a local brewery. Take part in making local beer and gin. You will also be able to taste these organic alcoholic products.

Day 13 Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Evening game drive
After a mighty breakfast, you are to travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You drive through the Kasenda crater lakes region and your guide will identify some of the lakes. The whole journey overlooks the mountains of the moon, also known as Rwenzori by the locals. You will take a guided nature walk in the crater lakes region and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey takes close to three hours and arrival will be in the afternoon. Have lunch and later enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi sector. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, Kobs, leopards, etc. This area is a mating ground for kobs and therefore a good area to spot the African savanna lions.

Day 14 Game drive and boat safari
We wake up for early breakfast and embark on a morning game drive to search for the early risers. The game drive lasts for 3 to 4 hrs. and ends at the shores of Bunyampaka Salt Lake. We then return to the lodge for a lunch break and go for a private afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga channel. This is the water stream that joins Lake Edward to Lake George. It is also said to have the highest concentration of hippos in the world. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, waterbucks, monitor lizards and so on. This water stream is also a bird watchers paradise as it is home to several bird species including the pelicans, African Fish eagles, gulls, kingfishers and so on.

Day 15 Game drive in Ishasha, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
We eat breakfast and then travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. On the way, you are to have a game drive in Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is famous for the rare tree climbing lions. They tend to relax on fig trees as they escape the mid day sun. Arrival to your safari lodge will be in the early evening.

Day 16 Gorilla trekking
On this day, you wake up very early, move to the park headquarters for paperwork and then get briefed about gorilla trekking before entering the Impenetrable Forest. Be ready to walk for one to six hours depending on where you will find the gorillas. Having encountered them, you will be given a full hour to associate with them. The one hour you spend with the gorillas is unforgettable. The mountain Gorilla is the most powerful and muscular primate on earth. Expect to see more wildlife since the forest is home to other creatures including the black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoest’s monkey, bushbucks, olive baboons, forest elephants, and many bird species. You will then be transferred back to your lodge to relax or visit a Batwa community. These are the original inhabitants of Bwindi Forest.

Day 17 Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After having breakfast, travel to Lake Mburo National Park. This is famous for large herds of zebras and impalas.
You then check into your accommodation and relax. On this day, you are to do a night game drive to search for nocturnal creatures.

Day 18 Game drive and optional activities
After a morning breakfast you will embark on a morning game drive in search for early risers like lions, leopard elephant, many antelopes among others. From there you will return to your hotel for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon you have an option to take on any optional activity of your choice for example safari walk, bike safari, horseback safaris, boat safari. The absence of large predators such as lions makes Lake Mburo a perfect place to have these adventurous activities.

Day 19 Transfer to Entebbe
Wake up for a morning game and later drive to Kampala or Entebbe. You are to have a lunch stop at Kayabwe (Equator village) where you can also shop for some souvenirs for the trip. You will reach Entebbe in the evening, check in your hotel for dinner and relaxation

Day 20 Shoebill tracking and Departure
Wake up for early breakfast and then go shoebill tracking in the Mabamba swamp on Lake Victoria. The activity takes place in a local boat and is aimed at birdwatching. Look out for the rare shoebill stalk, this is the bird watcher’s most sought for bird. Mabamba swamp is the best place to spot this prehistoric looking bird. Other birds to see include grey crowned cranes, cormorants, fish eagles, kingfishers and so on. You will enjoy a local lunch and Later in the day take a walk in the Entebbe
