BEST TIME TO VISIT MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK

HOW TO GET TO MOUNT ELGON NATIONAL PARK

1.By Road

First, exit Kampala and drive east via Jinja toward Mbale. This well-paved 235 km stretch takes about 4 to 5 hours, offering scenic views of Uganda’s countryside.
Then, continue from Mbale through Budadiri or Sipi Falls to rural trailheads like Kapkwata or Budadiri roads become dirt or murram and may require a 4×4 vehicle, especially during the wet season.

2.By Air

Alternatively, charter a flight from Entebbe to Mbale or Soroti airport, which cuts the trip drastically and flies you closer to the park.
Then, arrange ground transport from the airstrip to your trailhead usually a 30 km drive that takes about 1 to 2 hours

3.From Kenya

If you’re arriving from the Kenyan side, head via Eldoret to Kitale and continue to Mount Elgon. The road from Nairobi is about 350 km, or you can fly into Eldoret/Kitale and drive the remainder.
