This 4 days safari in Murchison falls gives you an opportunity to go rhino tracking, chimpanzee trekking, have a boat trip on the river Nile and game drives.

Day 1 Travel to Murchison Falls N.P

At 7:00 AM, your guide meets you at an agreed place for a short briefing and then travel to Murchison Falls National park. On your way there, you have an option to do a detour to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This is the only place to see rhinos in the wild in Uganda. You track rhinos on foot under the guidance of an experienced guide. Have lunch on the way and arrival at Murchison falls is in the afternoon. You then check into your lodge and relax.

Day 2 Morning game drive and afternoon boat trip

You wake up early for breakfast and then have a morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile. The north is short land savanna and is where most of the game is concentrated. Expect to see buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, lions, leopards, giraffes, warthogs and so on. Murchison falls has over 350 bird species and these include, black bellied bustard, white bellied bustard, kingfishers, the African fish eagle, Abyssinian ground hornbills, grey crowned crane, the rare shoe-bill stalk and so on. You will explore the different wildlife tracks including the Queen’s track famous for the African Lion, Buligi track, delta track and so on. You then drive back to your lodge for lunch and then go for an afternoon boat cruise on the River Nile leading you to the bottom of the falls.

On the way, expect to see hippos, Nile crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, many bird species and much more. You then hike to the top of the falls to see how the Nile plunges over 45 meters over the remnant rift valley wall thus creating the thunderous Murchison falls. This is the world’s most powerful falls and is said to be the greatest thing to ever happen to the Nile. You then drive tour safari lodge to retreat from the day’s activities.

Day 3 Chimpanzee trekking and evening game drive

You wake up for an early breakfast and then go chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi, a thick forest in Murchison falls national park. The activity begins with a briefing and then enter the rainforest withan expert guide and track as you search for man’s closest relative. This chimpanzee behavior will prove to you that they really share more than 97%of human DNA. On encountering them, you will be allowed a full hour to enjoy their company and there is no limitation of how many photos one should take. You then move out the forest and drive back your lodge to relax.

In the late evening, you are to have a sunset boat cruise to the Nile delta giving you an opportunity to see more game. Game to see includes; elephants, hippos, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, buffaloes. This area also gives high chances of spotting the rare shoebill stalk, the most sought for bird by bird watchers around the world.

Day 4 Travel to Kampala

We have breakfast at leisure and then check out of the park to start your journey back to Kampala. You will have lunch on the way and arrival will be in the afternoon.  Drop off  will be at a place your choice in either Kampala or Entebbe hence end of service.
