    8 Days Ugandan Safari

    This 8 days Ugandan Safari, Jinja and Lake Bunyonyi features wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park and adventure in Jinja which includes white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking and tubing the world’s longest river, and so on. It lets you take part in some of the wildest adventure the River Nile has to offer. You should not forget that you will go as far as in the footsteps of mountain Elgon to view the Sipi falls, abseiling, and take part in a coffee tour which begins from picking fresh coffee beans from the garden to your cup for drinking.

    Day 1 Arrival

    Day 1 Arrival

    On arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be met by your guide for transfer to your accommodation in Entebbe. On this day, you will be briefed about your 8 days  tour. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may have a Kampala city tour leading you to the Kampala City centre, Uganda Museum, Gadaffi Mosque, Owino market and Uganda Martyrs shrine Namugongo.

    Day 2 Travel to Queen Elizabeth National park

    This morning, you will be met by your guide for transfer to Uganda’s most visited National Park. You are to have picnic lunch on the Mweya peninsula and then begin your adventure with a boat trip on the Kazinga channel which will give you an opportunity to see many animals including; crocodiles, hippos, elephants, kobs, monitor lizards and so on. Also expect to see many bird species including; the marabou stalk, African Fish Eagle, pelicans, cormorants and so on. We then go for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi sector. This is a mating ground for antelopes and therefore a good hunting area for lions, leopards, hyenas and other predators. We later check in our lodge for overnight.

    Day 3 Game drives and visit the Katwe salt lake

    We wake up early for a morning game drive to search for the early risers. This is the best time to spot predators such as lions, leopards and the spotted hyena. The game drive is done in the Kasenyi sector known for prides of lions that hunt kobs, warthogs, waterbucks and so on. Other animals to see include buffaloes, elephants, hippos,leopards,hyenas, and so on.  We then later visit Lake Munyanyange to see flamingos. Having had lunch, we proceed to the Katwe Salt Lake. This Lake has been in existence since the 16th century and is responsible for the survival of people in Katwe village. You will see/get to know how local salt is extracted and made ready for consumption and sale in this area.

    We end our day with an evening game drive in the Kabatoro sector which is famous for large herds of elephants and is also a feeding ground for hippos. This evening, be ready to take a picture of a feeding hippo.

    Day 4 Chimpanzee tracking and Travel to Kampala

    After breakfast, we prepare ourselves for the once in a life time experience (chimpanzee tracking). You may track the chimps in the Kyambura Gorge or Imaramagambo Forest or Kalinzu Forest; the choice is yours. This activity is a bit challenging but very rewarding, so expect to walk for one to four hours depending on where the chimps will be on this day. Having encountered them, you will have a full hour with them. The chimpanzees’ behavior can provide a clue to that of our early ancestors. We then start our journey to Kampala, the Capital of Uganda.

    Day 5 Travel to Sipi Falls

    After breakfast, you will continue East of the country to the slopes of mountain Elgon. This is where the Sipi falls lie. The Sipi falls has three phases and you will visit all of them. The area is so fertile and supports growth of Arabic coffee. You end your day with a coffee tour which will take you through the whole process of coffee production from beans to your cup.

    Day 6 Adventure in the Sipi falls and travel to Jinja

    We wake up for breakfast and then hike to the three phases of Sipi falls. Having finished this, feel free to join any of the optional adventure activities which include abseiling and rock climbing a distance of 100 metres on the highest falls in Sipi region. You may also decide to visit a local community which will present you a cultural dance reflecting on male circumcision to manhood which this area is known for. We are to spend the night in Jinja town, the “Adventure Capital of East Africa”. If you wish to enjoy the night life here, please let your safari guide know.

    Day 7 Adventure in Jinja

    We wakeup very early for breakfast and have a boat trip on the world’s longest river (The Nile). The boat trip is aimed at visiting the source of this river and bird watching. You can then take part in any of the activities below; Kayaking the Nile(from USD 20 per hour), White water rafting(From USD 125), flat water tubing(From USD 25 per 3 hrs ), Bungee jumping(USD 115 per jump), biking tour( USD 20)

    Day 8 Travel to Entebbe

    We have breakfast at leisure and then begin our journey to Entebbe. This is about a 3 hours’ journey and on our way you have an option to do a nature walk or ziplining in the Mabira Forest. This is Uganda’s largest natural forest and is home to various primates including, baboons, mangabeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys and so on. You will be dropped at Entebbe Airport hence end of service.
