    14 Days Kenya Bush to Beach Safari

    This 14-day expedition takes you to Magical Kenya, which is where safaris started. You will have wildlife encounters to see the Big 5s, nature and more. You will engage with locals and end your adventure on the East African coast. On this adventure, you will be sleeping in simple but comfortable accommodation facilities. Feed on delicious dishes, both local and continental.

    Day 1 Arrival

    On arrival at Jomo Kenyata International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide from Mandela Safari Holidays. He will transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

    Day 2 Nairobi City

    After breakfast, your guide will give you a briefing about your Kenyan tour. Spend the day exploring this Nairobi city. This is the perfect day to do some shopping and exchange money for local Kenyan shillings as you prepare for the next safari day. You will visit the Bomas of Kenya.

    This unique cultural center will allow you to learn about Kenya’s culture through dance and drama. Several tribes including Arabic-influenced Swahili Taarab, Embu drumming, Kikuyu circumcision ceremony, Kalenjin warrior dances, and so on are all performed here.

    Day 3 Travel to Masai Mara

    After having breakfast at leisure, you will travel to Masai Mara. The journey takes you through the Great Eastern arm of the Great East African rift valley. You will have numerous stops such as at Narok for Rift Valley viewing and souvenir shopping and arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon.

    Day 4 Full-day game drive

    Having had breakfast, have a full day game viewing on the vast plains of the Masai Mara giving you a chance to see lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, zebras, and warthogs. Masai Mara is famous for having a huge population of wildlife. Part of your game drives will focus along the Mara River. This is where the wildebeests tend to cross from Tanzania to Kenya. This is known as the migration of the wildest. Even without the migration, this great river is full of hippos and crocodiles, something you should not miss out. Dinner and overnight at lodge. Our game drives will mainly focus on Ngama Hills for black rhinos, Sand River for large herds of elephants, Hammer Kop Plains and Kissenger for lions, and Keekorok and Mara River for hippo viewing.

    Day 5 Visit a Masai Community and travel to Naivasha

    After having breakfast at leisure, you visit a Masai community. On this tour, you will be introduced to some Masai traditions such as starting a fire without a lighter, visiting a typical Masai homestead, visiting a Masai market, and enjoying a presentation from their community. Be ready to participate in the presentation as it is healthy for your muscles (can you jump higher than a Masai warrior?).
    You will then travel to Naivasha town which will be your base for the next days’ activities.

    Day 6 Hell’s Gate National Park

    Wake up for an adventurous day in Hell’s Gate National Park. Here you can have a game drive, bike

    safaris, walking safari, and rock climbing. You have an option to do a guided bike touring the park to see nature, wildlife, and gorges. Another option is climbing Fischer’s tower. This is a 50m high volcanic cliff and as you climb, you will be surrounded by towering cliffs and gorges.

    Day 7 Optional activities

    On this day, you have a range of optional activities to take part in. These include a boat trip on Lake

    Naivasha aimed at viewing hippos, and several bird species. ($30)

    or a visit to the crescent island ($60) where you will view zebras, waterbucks, impalas, buffaloes, and

    so on.

    You may also opt to do a day trek to Mountain Longnot($80). This volcano has a crater on top. The

    distance from the base to the crater is about 3.1km and takes 3 to 5 hours. If you decide to circumnavigate the crater, the extra distance is 7km thus making it a full day activity.

    Day 8 Travel to Nairobi

    In the morning after breakfast, you will travel to Nairobi city. Arrival will be in the early afternoon. Check-in your accommodation, relax, and prepare for a night out. In the evening, you have an opportunity to explore some of the vibrant life this East African nation has to offer. From discotheques to high-end bars, you have a variety of places to choose from.

    Day 9 Travel to Tsavo East National Park

    Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and move Eastwards. Our stop will be at Voi town, a stone’s throw from Tsavo East National Park Check in your accommodation and relax.

    Day 10 Full Day Exploring Tsavo East National Park

    Tsavo East is Kenya’s biggest National Park. Have you heard about the Tsavo lions? Yes, these were man-eaters and perhaps the biggest problem faced by constructors of the Uganda railway which ran through the park. Over 700 lions roam this place today. The famous movie “The Ghost and the Darkness” was based on true-life events that happened here. Other animals to see include elephants, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, and so on. Spend the full day enjoying an action-packed- game drive and only return to your accommodation in the evening.

    Day 11 Travel to Diani

    After having breakfast, you depart for Diani on the shores of the Indian Ocean to enjoy the coastal life.

    White sandy beaches, snorkeling, surfing, amazing sunsets, nightlife, and more await.

    The port’s Italian and Arabic history is evident in the coastal people, buildings, and food. Arrive at

    midday, check into your accommodation, and enjoy the rest of the day.

    Day 12 and 13 Relax at Diani

    Spend the days at your leisure in Diani.

    Day 14 Departure

    Have an early breakfast and then travel to Nairobi to catch your flight back home. Your transfer will be either by road or train depending on the season of travel. You will then travel to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, say farewell to Kenya and your 14-day expedition comes to an end.
