Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the South Western
part of Uganda. This game park covers around 331 square kilometers.
It is close the border of The Democratic Republic of Congo next to the
Virunga National Park.

When to visit the Forest

According to research, the best time to visit this park is between June
to August and December to February.
It is a great place to have an excellent gorilla trekking with very good
sightings since it is to the remaining half of the world’s mountain
Gorilla population. It also has superb bird watching areas because it is
home to over 360 bird species. It is also one of the remaining places
in the world with unspoiled rainforest.
Apart from the endangered mountain Gorillas, the park is home to
other primates like the Chimpanzees, Olive baboons, Black and white
colobus, Bushbucks and if you get a chance you can also spot forest
Elephants in this park but its rare though they are also there. The park
also has over 200 butterfly species.

Weather in Bwindi

The weather at Bwindi is conducive because it receives heavy rains
during the month of March and May and you are advised to carry wet
weather gear to combat the drizzle. Though the best time to visit the
park is between the months of August and December to February.

What to do in Bwindi

One of the best activities to be done in Bwindi Impenetrable National
Park is Gorilla tracking and it is a great experience for the tourists
because they get a full hour of watching the Gorilla families in the
park and take pictures and this experience is just at ap rice of $700.
Bird watching is also another activity in the park because the park is
home to over 360 bird species including those from the Albertine
endemics. The park has bird species like, the Dusky Crimson Wing,
honey guide, bar tailed trogon, white tailed blue monarch among
others.

From Kampala city to the park, it is about a 9-10 hour drive. And it is
a really great experience to drive to the park and take a good look to
Uganda the pearl of Africa.
